Thanks to all who participated in last year's holiday drive which enabled us to provide the school supplies for ALL of the students in two schools (Manzanillo and Patiño)! This year we hope to sponsor at least two different communities. Items such as educational toys, schools and art supplies, tool, books, first aid and sports equipment and cash are some suggestions for donations being accepted for this year's drive. Click here to see a list suggestions of stuff to gift or here for the whole school supply list. If you'd like to donate cash, 100% of that donation will go to buying school supplies. Just bring, or send, items in to ATEC's office in Puerto Viejo and we'll disperse educational toys and all non-school related items in late December and the plan is to (like last year) put together complete school supply packets for entire schools in February just before school starts for the new year. So there is plenty of time to participate. 100% of donations will be given to (at least) these two communities:

One of the communities is San Jose Cabecar way up in the Talamanca mountains they have 29 kids (or more); and we're talking to some folks connected with Volio --we'll see how much with can raise to get to supplies to as many kids as possible. There are a LOT of kids -100's! THANKS!

Recaudo Anual de Regalos y Útiles Escolares.
Gracias a los vecinos que participó en la recaudación del año pasado cuando recaudabamos bastantes utiles escolares para compartir todo lo necesario para 2 escuelas--Manzanillo y Patiño! Y todos que ayudaron en el año 2006, cuando regalemos mucho a los chicos de Coroma de Alta-Talamanca--regalos divertidos y ropa. Este año tenemos la meta de obtener juguetes educacionales y ropa y cosas útiles--herramientas para construcción, primeros auxilios, utiles para arte, libros, etc-- para los finales de diciembre y utiles escolares para febrero--hay bastante tiempo para traer donaciones a ATEC en Puerto Viejo ya. Las comunidades este año son--Cabecar, donde hay por lo menos 29 chicos que viven muy en dentro de Alta Talamanca y estamos haciendo planes con gente de Volio, que tiene mas de 100 chicos.
Es un gran oportunidad de ayudar a sus vecinos. Aceptamos cualquier donacion--le adjunta una lista de sugerencias--o 100% de efectivo donado va a comprar utiles escolares.
