Mysterious flyer appears in Southern Caribbean
Two days ago the flyer pictured here suddenly appeared in businesses
all over the area. It claims that Talamanca is not advancing because
of foreigners who are working for international organizations and
receiving "millions" to help the people of Talamanca, but are instead
keeping the money for themselves. The flyer does not indicate who
published it, except for a small sunflower logo and the words "kioscos
ambientales".
Kioscos is a group from the University of Costa Rica that was instrumental in fighting against the recent attempted marina project. The rhetoric of the flyer, however, reads like that of the pro-marina group. We have now found out that Kioscos is not the publisher of the flyer. We also learned that the people who distributed it were paid by a local developer who was one of the biggest marina proponents.
Claro
