Asociacion EDACS
| SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN SOCIETY OF THE SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS ASOCIACION ESCUELA DE ARTES DEL CARIBE SUR |
EDACS has been able to secure the active and strong support of many well-known local artists in fine arts and music to develop workshops which will be free of charge and open to the public.Just to name a few Manuel Obregon, Manuel Monestel, Marfil, Santos y Zurdo, but also the theatre piece La Negra brought by the embassy of Spain, the famous puppet man Anselmo Navarro, etc.
In order to promote and insure the success the workshops and to validate the artistic and cultural heritage of the Southern Caribbean, EDACS together with many celebrated local residents have decided to establish ARTE-VIVA festivals each last weekend of September. This project culminate in a public exhibition lasting three days with demonstrations of painting, sculpture, graphic design, crafts, ceramics, musical performance, circus, masquerade and band music; all with the participation of private individuals and cultural and educational institutions. This year the 5th annual festival will be held between the 23rd and 25th of September in Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva.
ARTE-VIVA has become a notable tourist event as well as a vehicle to enhance the image of Talamanca as a result of its educational value and the high artistic level of Southern Caribbean's.
Most importantly, we will try our best to continue a permanent educational program in music and arts, for which your financial support will be greatly appreciated. For more details regarding the board of directors or operational aspects of EDACS please refer to the Spanish Version.
We sincerely thank you for your attention and your donation.
