GIVE THE GIFT of EDUCATION this holiday season.
Each year, hundreds of kids in Talamanca can't start the first day of school because they are unable to purchase even the most basic school supplies. Here's your chance to make the difference, and give the gift of education to a kid who can't do it without you!
ATEC’s Fourth Annual Holiday School Supply Drive

100% of your donation (minus the small paypal fees) goes to purchase school supplies for students in Talamanca who may otherwise not be able to attend school.
Supplies are collected now for distribution at school’s start in February. You can make a gift to the drive or purchase the gift of education on behalf of the person who already has everything--we'll give you a certificate to present.
Levels of donating:
You can donate the needed materials (see attached list of required supplies) or any amount you'd like;
US$1+ buys some pens or a notebook,
$44.98 buys all of the school supplies for one kid for one year!
$77.56 buys all of the school supplies for one kid for one year AND their school uniform AND SHOES!
You are welcome to help one or as many as you wish.
The Boy Scouts of Canada were here on a volunteer trip in July and helped secure many items and we are very grateful. They are responsible for much of the list of materials donated so far (see attached). We have also attached the list of required materials for each student--with estimated costs of each item.
With any donated amount (actual materials or cash) we will present you with a certificate of adoption to commemorate your donation. It makes a great gift for that person on your list who has everything!
100% of each gift is used to purchase school supplies (donations on paypal we have to deduct their fee.)
Last year, through your generous donations we sponsored 110 kids:
20 students in El Parque in Baja Talamanca
20 in the small Indigenous school of Katsi in Alta Talamanca
40 in the high school of Coroma in Alta Talamanca
30 in the grade school of Coroma in Alta Talamanca
Depending on how many packets we are able to purchase, we'll decide which schools to adopt. We are talking to folks in some very remote and neglected areas in Valle de la Estrella.
