Recycling Art Collective at the Farmers' Market/Feria in Puerto Viejo Second Saturday of Every Month
The new collective of artesanos making art with reused materials will make their debut tomorrow at the farmers' market in Puerto Viejo.
A group of 10 artists from the Talamanca area have gotten together and are forming a collective making art out of donated reused items. Making baskets out of newpaper & those shiny snack bags, change purses out of soda bottles, hand bags out of used umbrellas and jeans, bed covers from banana stained t-shirts, drinking glasses from wine bottles and so much more.
We're going to start collecting donations of the following things at ATEC, at the Botanical Garden in Black Beach and at the Farmers' Market. We're planning to show our presence at the Farmers' Market every Second Saturday of the month and collect materials, offer work shops on how to make useful stuff out of reused materials, and there will be garage sales! Lots of great ways to demonstate the "R's" Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reject, Rethink.
