Urgent Call for Volunteers--Llamada para voluntarios
Hi Friends,
You got the happy news last week that the recycling service has started again. Hooray!
Our friends at the Biological Corridor have taken over the day to day management of the collection and separation system.
You can understand, as with any new endeavor, there is a learning curve.
You have done a Fabulous job of saving your recyclables while the service was suspended. Thank you for your work for this great community project. Right now we have 6 times the normal amount of materials. Have you seen our recycling center? It's set in the jungle, bordered with gingerbread, there's a really cool recycled bottle wall. Now, imagine the recycling center literally overflowing with tons of materials for the new team to deal with.
The Corridor is calling for you to come give a hand.
It may not be sexy work, but it is work that you can feel good about! The Corridor is seeking volunteers to participate in the process from now and until about a month from now when they can get on top of this big and important job.
Some businesses, thank you Hotel Guaraná, Casa Viva, & Café Viejo, have sent employees to the recycling collection center in Patiño to help out for a day or three (and they've paid their salaries!)
I'm going to go and put on my rubber gloves! HOW about YOU?!

AND, by the way, think about this idea for reusing as well as recycling...
We at ATEC with the Botanical Garden of Black Beach and a small group of artists, are working on forming a group to make recycled art. We welcome your ideas or participation. We're asking that you bring to ATEC your pretty old clothes with stains or holes that aren't wareable or donatable as clothes for someone else. We're going to make recycled art out of them (hand bags and rugs for now.) We don't need tons and tons at this time, but if you have anything that is special, pretty, but you can no longer wear, we'd love for you to share it with us. THANK YOU!

Les escribo para mandarles una llamada para ayuda para nuestra comunidad.
Como ya saben, nuestros amigos del Corridor Biologico ya está manejando el gran trabajo de reciclar aquí en Talamanca despues de este corto periodo de suspencion del servicio.
Esta comunidad increible han guardado un gran cantidad de materiales en esta epoca. El equipo nuevo están trabajando durisimo, pero necesitan, para un rato entro Hoy y uno o dos meses pueden normalizar la situación, su ayuda!
Entonces, estamos mandando la llamada.
Si usted tiene unas horas extras y pueden ayudar a su comunidad, contactanos!
o tambien, hay unos negocios --gracias Café Viejo, Cabinas Casa Viva, y Hotel Guaraná--que han mandado empleados para pasar un día o tres en el centro de acopio den Patiño ayudando con la clasificación de material reciclable.
No es un trabajo bien "sexy" pero es un trabajo bien necesario y usted va a sentir muy orgulloso por su parte en mantener una comunidad saludable y limpio!

Otro proyectocito que usted puede participar en Reutilizar y reciclar...
ATEC junto con el Jardin Botanico y un grupo de artistas Talamanqueñas estamos formando un grupito de artistas haciendo arte reciclado. Le agradecemos sus ideas y particiapcion. Y tambien estamos buscando donaciones de ropa linda manchado a con huecos (digo, ropa que usted no puede llevar ni donar a otra persona) para hacer arte reciclado--como alfombras y bolsas. Hoy en día no estamos buscando un montón de material, pero algunas cosas especiales para empezar el proyecto.Mil Gracias!
