Bridge Fixin' in Volio

Category: Help Out
Posted by: Alaine

The other day our friend Timoteo Jackson, community leader in Rancho Grande called and said they were looking for some help to fix up their pedestrian bridge. Timoteo was able to rally various friends and neighbors and the bridge is nearly completed. ATEC was able to use a generous donation that came from some fabulous folks at www.globalexchange.org in order to buy the last of the supplies and pay a few days of fair wage for guys working to make the bridge safe. Also Jorge from www.willies-costarica-tours.com in Cahuita did a lot of work to help out. Jorge was very involved in getting supplies together to make sure the bridge is usable for the community and visitors to the community--we thank and congratulate Jorge and the folks at Willie's tours for being so involved with helping their neighboring communities! Way to go!
Another way to support the community of Volio is through ecotourism, go on a guided visit to the waterfall in Volio with Don Timo or another member of the Rancho Grande community, a great trip!
