Casa Camarona is just 10 minutes south of the true Caribbean town of Puerto Viejo (Old Harbour) and 10 minutes from Punta Uva, 20 minutes from the sleepy town of Manzanillo its National Wildlife Refuge. Casa Camaron also boasts the following green accomplishments:
- Has the Costa Rican Tourism Institute's (ICT) Sustainbable Eco-Tourism Certification (CST) and has since 2005.
- Has many other alliances with the ICT
- Has worked to achieve the Prestigous Blue Flag certification for its beach since 2003.
- Has Special recognition from the Rainforest Alliance for Best Practices in environmental awarenss.
- Are members of the National Network of Small Hotels of Costa Rica--striving to protect Costa Rica's Ecology
