Puerto Viejo Chocolate Festival Schedule

Festival inauguration at Stashu's ConFusion on beach road in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Presentations will be made by some chefs and there will be an oppurtunity to meet with tour and workshop hosts and sample chocolates.
Early morning farmers' market has many chocolate vendors with products from pure cacao blocks and nibs to fine chocolate bars.
Tours and workshops will be offered.
12 Noon at Casa de la Cultura. Paul of Caribbeans will offer a class on cacao and chocolate judging that will be followed by the judging of local producers cacao.
During the afternoon indigenous chocolates and other small producers will have stands at the cultural center.
4PM Chocolate tasting and products will be available at the Bread and Chocolate restaurant.
5:30PM Talks on the pre-hispanic history of chocolate, the Afro Caribbean cacao experience and its cultural effects, and a report on current happenings with chocolatiers and the modern fine chocolate movement.
During the evening several restaurants will participate at their sites with their own chocolate dishes.
A workshop will be available in the morning that will process chocolate from bean to bar, participants will experience every part of this process and take some chocolate bars home with them. There will be participation from a local spa that specializes in chocolate treatments.
